    Zylinderrollenlager können höhere radiale Belastungen aufnehmen als Kugellager gleicher Baugröße. Daher werden bei hohen Belastungen meist Rollenlager verwendet. Die hohen Drehzahlen, die Kugellager zulassen, können allerdings durch Rollenlager nicht realisiert werden.

     

    Zylinderrollenlager bestehen aus zylindrischen Rollen, die zwischen zylindrischen Ringflächen geführt werden. Am Außen- und/oder seltener am Innenring befinden sich Borde, die den Rollensatz mit dem Käfig führen.
